It is the end of the school year … time for a chapter to close and a new one to begin. Graduation. It is a new road to travel. Some may be headed to college, some to a job. Many will stay close to home. Others will travel far.
It is hard to imagine what the new day will bring. It is truly the first day of the rest of their life. But, they are not starting on their first day of the rest of their life without having all the steps that led to this day. Graduation is a sign of success. A celebration of all the previous years of successfully moving forward. Family, teachers, and friends have all contributed in these steps. Many will continue to travel the road ahead with them. Fortunately, for most graduates, no matter how far they travel, they are only a click away for advice, encouragement. Today’s technology will help them to remember they are supported and loved. Loved ones will reach out and remind them of their roots and how far they have come if they are ever in doubt.
Celebration of an end of a chapter is in essence a celebration of the next. A gift from you will remind them of who they are, and who is there for them each time they look at it. A great way to celebrate your graduate and all of their achievements is with a personalized gift from GailsPersonalizedGifts.com.
Mother. You know you have one. She had one too. Everyone does. If she is still in your life, you are blessed. If you have a grandmother still in your life, you are doubly blessed. Sometimes growing up you did not feel so blessed. It seems moms and grandmoms are everywhere you do not expect. Maybe your “mom” was an aunt that raised you, or an adopted mom. And they seem to know, just KNOW. Aggravating as it may be, you are her business. That is never going to change. It is a connection, some are great, some are static, some are gone.
Most moms are up before you in the morning and long after you go to bed. You do not notice she gave you the last piece and she had none. You do not know she lost touch with friends while she taxied you and your friends to all your events. Your dad gave her money for a new coat and she spent it on you and your siblings. The third time he took her and waited while she bought her coat. Mothers are like that, yes they are. It only takes one thing to be a great mom, SELFLESSNESS.
If you are blessed to still have your mother here this Mother’s Day, May 12th, then let us help you celebrate her. Gail’s Personalized Gifts has so many types of carryalls, buckets and totes that make perfect gift containers for you to show your mom some specialized treatment. No matter your budget you are certain to find something special and unique for her from our inventory of personalized gifts. You can add framed photos of family, artwork, chocolates, soaps, bath, candles, makeup … unlimited ways to make a container filled with wonderful personalized gifts just for her. And, above all, make time to spend time with the Mom and Grandmothers in your life. Make a date for the movies, the beach or lake, a lunch or dinner is always special. Make her a card like you did for her in school, create a memory.
You are someone’s legacy. That thought encouraged West Virginian Marian Lucille Herndon McQuade to establish a national holiday that would honor grandparents, and give them a chance to share with their children’s children all the love, knowledge and history of their family. It was first launched in her home state in 1973 and by 1979 National Grandparents Day was proclaimed at the national level for the first Sunday after Labor Day. Forty years ago grandparents were normally called Grandfather, Grandmother, Granny, Gramps, or Pappa and Nanna.
But, our great melting pot has added so many other names from various cultures like, Abuelo and Abuela in Spanish, Nonno and Nonna in Italian, and Opa and Oma in German. Imagine trying to find those names on an item! And with a less formal society nicknames like GG for Great-grandfather or grandmother Gail have arrived on the scene. Some children have added their own special names for their grands. My oldest nephew was special needs and my mother always said “hogwash”, so she became “granny hogwash”. My husband called his grandmother Egee because he could not say “Grandmother Edith”. No special items were ever found for them.
But, all that has changed! There are so many names to call that special grandparent and ONE special place to order that special gift this year: Gail’s Personalized Gifts! You have time to order great gifts that can be personalized with your unique grandparent names. Need a bag with Nanu on it – we can do that. Need a tumbler with Pop Pop on it, we can do that. We can even add pictures to those personalized tumblers. Image their delight when they receive a tumbler with their special name and their grandkids picture. Order today – Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 9, 2018!
